Midnight Oil
Sanna has got a job!!
Somewhere this week she'll start working as Toverbal Medewerker.
Looks like a fun job, she'll be runnig a game-O-theque or whatever the name is in English.
I started working as a porter two weeks ago in the hotel where I used to work before we went to Saba. The hotel has been torn inside out, and what used to be a fine example of "Faded Glory" now is one of the city's hot spots. It looks really cool and makes my job more fun too
I'm working the nightshift at the moment. Not good! Except, maybe, that I have time to write a little something if my brain does not let me down..
This morning we joined a group to do a Havenfietstocht (a bike ride through the port of Amsterdam)we learned that the whole port area is approx 35 square miles! On a bike!! On a Sunday morning!!!
Fortunately the weather was lovely (a bright sun, a slight breeze and a comfortable -10 degrees C....)
When we got home, I upset Sanna by switching on the central heating!
At one point during our little excursion we drove past what looked like a makeshift camp of hurricane victims, and one of our friends who was so lucky to join us moaned:"Oh shit, there's a party where I was supposed to be! And look at me now!!"
At the finish line we were rewarded with a Zadeldekje (Google that!), a pretty flyer and for Tijl a huge fairground! There was a Ferris wheel (The chief wonder of the 1893 Fair, designed by George Washington Gale Ferris, God bless the guy)
Anyway a well spent day.
Funny thing is that Tijl still gets really excited when he sees a tram or bus, or even better: two trams. How is that possible daddy?
Love, the urban hippies.
